MLPS Children

The Mabel Lowery Pressly School and Girls Dormitory were established in Sahiwal, Pakistan, in 1913. Girls had been denied the opportunity of education, and many pastors serving in remote villages had no way to provide education for their children. The need continues to this day. Since its inception, the MLPS Hostel has provided excellent Christian education and boarding to Christian girls. Many graduates now serve as lay leaders in their churches, school teachers, head mistresses, nurses and superintendents of nurses in major hospitals in Pakistan and other countries.
From its humble beginning, God has used this program to train 180 girls each year. The program has expanded to include young boys in the benefits of education in a Christian school. After 30 years, the Pakistan government has denationalized 3 former ARP Christian Schools. The government teachers admitted that they had not taught anything to the students. The academic condition of Christian students was hopeless. Most students come from slum areas and are from very poor families, but they now have hope for a brighter future through the ARP Christian Schools.
