Alex & Jamie Pettett
Alex Pettett grew up in Greenville, SC, and graduated from the Citadel in 1996. His first foreign mission assignment was to Israel, where he served as a student pastor and earned the M.S. degree in Judaic studies from Hebrew University, Jerusalem. In 1999, Alex met Jamie in Amman, Jordan, where she was studying Arabic and conducting outreach to women. Jamie received a B.A. in Islamic studies at the University of Illinois. Their common interests and studies led to their answering the Lord’s call to foreign missions and to their marriage in 2000. In 2001, Alex became youth pastor at First ARP, Gastonia, NC, and was introduced to the solid Reformed theological foundation of the ARP Church. From 2006-2009, the Pettetts served in Israel, as WW Cooperative Missionaries with a medical ministry, Shevet Achim, until they were forced to leave due to visa issues. They returned to their church community at First ARP, Gastonia, and in 2011 joined the WW team in Turkey. In 2014, they returned to Greenville, SC, following Alex’s appointment as Executive Director of World Witness, beginning January 2015. The Pettetts have 3 children.
